I just finished watching Oldboy- what may very well be the best movie ever made. It took me a very long time to finally get around to seeing it, and I regret waiting as long as I did.
Everything about this movie is amazing. The plot, the cinematography, the character development, the way the story unfolds with a perfect pace, the soundtrack! I am not the least bit surprised to find that it is ranked in the top 250 (118) movies of all time on imdb.
Oldboy is a drama, released in South Korea in late 2003. It is about a man who has been imprisoned in a room for 15 years with only a TV and himself to keep him company. He is subjected to many cruel and unusual treatments while in his small prison. When he is finally released he has only 5 days to find his captor and uncover the reason why.
The story unfolds at such an amazingly perfect pace, always keeping you guessing right up till the end, plot twists abound and phenomenal cinematography are just a minor scratch on the surface of what this monumental masterpiece has to offer.
I highly recomend this movie!
